General Rules;;
(These rules are the most important and should be followed at all times) Updated areas are in RED. Last updated 5/12/11.
- Listen to the admin, myself, and the co-admin, Kyla, because basically what we say is as important to follow as the rules.
- Don't argue with other members or staff. If you have a problem come to me and I will try to get everything straightened out. To avoid fights don't be rude, harass, bully or insult others.
- Don't spam.
Roleplay;;
- No Godmoding, which is when your character has God-like powers and takes on a bunch of other characters and wins without getting a scratch. Be realistic, your character isn't invincible. The only exception to this rule is if you have stated a specific power in the character's bio and I have accepted it.
- No powerplaying, which is when you make someone else's character do something the other character's rper didn't say in their post. You can't assume the other character would do something.
- Please make your posts at least a paragraph, 4-6 sentences, which doesn't include speech. Also try to make it interesting. No one likes boring posts. This is to avoid one-liners, or posts that are only a few lines long. Give the other members something to work off of.
- Try not to double post. You can just modify your last post. And if you want someone to look at the thread just ask on the c-box or pm them.
- Try to keep posts at a PG-13 level. Anything higher will be deleted.
- Again, supernatural powers aren't accepted unless you stated them in the character's biography.
- Don't use chat or 'txt' speak in the RP boards. I.e., "lol, wtf, i went to the market." Use proper English and sentence structure.
Era Restrictions;;
- LumineEssence is based on a late 1800's early 1900's time period. This means there is little technology beyond what they had then. (At least for the general public.)
- This means there are no iPods or computers or even radios for that matter.
- Exceptions can be made for those of high class and scientists. They can have limited technology for the time period. For example, the first gas power car was made in the late 1800's, but not everyone had one. Carrages and trains are the most common way to travel. Scientists in Ost are pretty advanced, so they can have semi-state-of-the-art machines and so forth.
- To put things in perspective characters will have limited use of automobiles, telephones, radios, and even lightbulbs. These things are for the wealthy.
Biographies;;
- You need to follow the Bio Form when creating your characters.
- We don't use the face claim system. Having an image for your character is optional, and if two characters end up with the same image, don't worry about it. It's the physical description that you should be worrying about anyway.
- Don't create God-like characters with every power possible. Some magic and powers and unnatural abilities are okay, but don't over do it.
- Please keep your character's physical description real. Of course you're allowed to make your character sexy if you want, but no one is perfect.
- Don't steal information from other people's bios. Even from other sites. Your character should be 100% yours. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone took credit for your work.
- You are allowed to have multiple characters per account, but you don't have to. Feel free to make multiple accounts if you like. There is also no limit on how many characters you can have, but you must post with each of them at least once a month.
- IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS DON'T FORGET TO POST IN THE ACTIVITY CHECK WITH ALL ACCOUNTS!
Other;;
- Try not to curse excessively. Its alright every once and awhile, but not too much.
- Like I said before, try to keep it PG-13. Some violence and romance is okay, and if you want to go over that level just make sure to put a warning in the thread's title.
- The c-box rules are about the same as the rules for the site. No spamming or cursing.
- Before you start roleplaying I also strongly suggest you read this- clickeh. It will help you better understand what our site is about.
- Be creative and original! No one is here to stop you from letting your thoughts flow freely- so try new things, plot away, and be spontaneous!
Well, thats about it for now. If you have any questions pm me about it. Enjoy the site.
